February 2013 V5 I2

To be honest, the renovation of the main site is taking much more time than anticipated. I hope that you will bear with me as it is a learning process. It is easy to get side-tracked with all the software programs and learning them. Hopefully, you will find this to be worth the wait. The designer “scroll” was an idea that I did not get exactly as imagined, but with my limited knowledge, was amazed to have accomplished it at all!! Too bad I am not creating these things with a needle and thread - that would be much easier and probably take much less time!! If you have suggestions, now would be the time to send them to me.

Fabric Orphan Adoption Opportunities The fabric orphan adoption opportunities are a collaboration between Picture This Plus and The Stitchers’ Village. Fabric “orphans” are created when, through no fault of their own, they do not match any of the PTP color categories and are not a color in the normal PTP line. This means that these colors are unique and are not available for ordering, but are only available as one of a kind “orphans”. So, we are offering opportunities for you to “adopt”! Sometimes, there may be more than one quarter available from a larger piece, but because of the dyeing process at PTP, each area of fabric has unique properties. All pieces are ¼ cut of fabric (approximately 18” x 27”), the edges have been serged, and a certificate will accompany each orphan with name and ancestry (fabric type). The first two adoption opportunities are February 13th and February 20th. The page to view the orphans will go live at 9:00 a.m. Central Time. The page will show a picture of the available orphans, give the specific fabric type/count, the adoption fee, and a name. This is done on a first come, first served basis and the window of opportunity is small. You will need to follow the instructions given at the top of the adoption page. When the orphans are all adopted the orphanage will close. The first two have been scheduled, but we will try to have these periodically, so you should watch for notices in the TSV and PTP emails. The “orphanage” will be the tall building next to the newspaper office on the main village site.

February Birthday Drawing Lulu C., FL, will receive this month’s Birthday prize - the Blue Ribbon Designs Mystery Sampler Chart and threads.
