June 2017 V9 I6

"Hope", "Love", and "Joy" are 3 of the Simple Gifts series
by Praiseworthy Stitches

June brings the start of the Collective Stitch cross stitch event. This is the second year and there are 25 shops who are participating. The theme for the event is “A Postcard From. . .” The event is a shop hop and will hopefully grow to include all of the cross stitch shops. That way, when you travel through the Summer you will have one more reason to seek out the cross stitch shops. Each participating shop will have a different design created by the designer they are working with for the project. You can collect the charts and stitch any or all of them. The first year, the theme was “Autumn”. I thought the postcard theme would be a great way to stitch a memento from your LNS, a place you visited, or from one of your favorite designers. To see the list of participating shops and the designers, visit the 2017 page here: collectivestitch.com/2017-collective-stitch.html

To correspond with the start of the Collective Stitch, there is a complimentary chart on page 3 of this newsletter. I may be inspired to create a postcard from The Stitchers’ Village later this Summer. The ideas are always flowing! The June Drawing will be for a complete set of the Christmas Village Ornament series kits from Legacy Patterns. Each of the kits in this Limited Edition release contains the Picture This Plus fabric and coordinating Legacy Patterns quilt fabric to complete the two designs included. Batting, ribbon, and finishing instructions are also included. There are six kits in the series @ $29 each, making the value of this prize $174! To be eligible for the drawing, you must participate in a postcard exchange. To participate in the postcard exchange, you must fill out the drawing form with your contact information using the code “exchange”. Then you must stitch, finish, and be ready to mail your postcard on June 30. The participants will be randomly assigned to an exchange partner and you will be notified by email where to mail your postcard.
