May 2016 V8 I5

I have spent the last 5 days with my 2 year old granddaughter. She is a joy! My house is not childproof, however, so I have had my eye on her the whole time. She can also climb out of the pack and play now, so even nap-time is not totally free time for me when she is here. Even so, I was able to get most of the newsletter together in time for May 1 posting! A gold star for effort to me!!

The updates to the community are complete and I hope that they did not cause much confusion. There are a couple of changes. The first is to your profile page. You can now upload a canvas photo by editing your profile. Also, under the rectangle on your profile page that holds the place for your canvas image is a box with lines. This gives you the “Photos” option to add photos and to organize them into albums. This is not meant to take the place of the Projects photos - that is where you should post your stitching to allow comments to be made on them. The second major change is that the Activity page allows for commenting and this is intended to be the focal point of the community. There you can see all the recent activity, comment directly, or click on “Discuss” to take you to the Forum to reply to comments there.

There are now 18 shops confirmed for the Collective Stitch project. One of them is in Australia. That makes this a global event! collectivestitch.com The Stitchers’ Village next Activity Page will be a Christmas in July event July 20-27. An activity page will go live during that time with a variety of activities. One of these will be an ornament exchange. Members are already signing up for this! Start stitching your ornament now. Watch the “Seasonal Fun” page for details. There is a link there for you to sign up for the exchange.
