"Pumpkin Time" by Diane Graebner

May was a busy month for TSV headquarters! The 31st was the deadline for the Collective Stitch charts. I had a process for putting everything together and was thrown off track by a bit of tardiness. Sort of like de-railing a train. I will know more what to expect next year and plan for this by having a much earlier deadline. The master charts are off to the shops and I am updating the web site with all the information regarding events in the shops during the July 1 - August 15 time. There are 19 shops participating in the 2016 Collective Stitch project. One of them is in Australia. That makes this a global event! collectivestitch.com

The Stitchers’ Village next Activity Page will be a Christmas in July event July 20-27. An activity page will go live during that time with a variety of activities. One of these will be an ornament exchange. Members are already signing up for this! Start stitching your ornament now. Watch the “Seasonal Fun” page for details. There is a link there for you to sign up for the exchange. I have also enjoyed working with Audrey Wright from Legacy Patterns on an exclusive kit. She is designing for cross stitch and has been a designer of quilt fabric for quite some time. She is putting these together for some adorable little kits!! You might remember this month’s “Stitch This” chart. “Pumpkin Time” was part of an activity a few years back. Diane Graebner is the featured designer and I thought it would be a great time to have this be part of the newsletter so that it will be on the official record in the newsletter archives. June is quickly disappearing!

Our youngest daughter is expecting her first baby in July and our middle daughter is expecting her second baby in September. DH will be officially home full time the end of July and I will recruit him to help me here in TSV. He will be accompanying me to the Needlework Gallery and Spirit of Cross Stitch - both retail shows happening in October 2016!!

Diane Graebner is our featured designer this month. Diane is well-known for her Amish designs. “Kind Deeds”, by Diane, is number 6 in the Village Home Series. She has also participated in previous events by generously offering designs for TSV stitchers, such as “Pumpkin Time” Visit the Diane Graebner webiste. www.dianegraebner.com
