February 2019 V11 I2

It’s true! The Stitchers’ Village is officially ten years old this month! It was in 2010 that I took over, but it was launched in February of 2009. I would like to thank all of the members who have made this a great site and who have become part of the TSV family. There would be no “Village” without the “Villagers”! We have seen so many wonderful stitching projects and been through a lot together. There have been several changes to the social area over the years. The original was a forum. When I took over I found a social module “ning” that worked well, but the pricing increased past what I thought reasonable. Hosting became an issue in the next format, but the site is now hosted on its own and the social module should continue to function as we have eliminated most of the “add-ons” which were causing conflicts and are using the built in features for most things. This includes the chat. Chat was one of the key issues that caused us to change hosting services. It is different than what we had grown accustomed to, but seems to be functioning. The membership is continuing to increase and we will hopefully reach our high of 2500 social members in the future. Again, I would very much like to thank you for being part of The Stitchers’ Village and, personally, for being there for me in recent years. Your kindness and support is what makes it worthwhile! XOXOXO
